Janet is Deputy General Counsel at Electric Capital.

Janet brings over 20 years of legal experience in the financial industry, with a focus on building and managing legal and compliance frameworks for asset management firms and advising on portfolio investments and strategic transactions. She partners closely with investment teams to deliver commercially aligned legal solutions, manage regulatory frameworks, and advise senior stakeholders on business-critical decisions.

Prior to joining Electric, Janet served as General Counsel and Chief Compliance Officer at WeWork Capital Advisors, a real estate asset management fund affiliated with WeWork Inc. Before that, she was General Counsel and Chief Operating Officer at Candlewood Investment Group, a multi-strategy registered investment advisor focused primarily on distressed and special situation assets. There, she worked with portfolio company executives to develop solutions to operational and financial challenges.

Janet began her career at Sidley Austin, where she represented a range of clients in corporate finance and merger and acquisitions transactions. Janet earned her B.A., magna cum laude, from James Madison University and her J.D., cum laude, from University of Connecticut School of Law.
