- Visual treatments – Do not add drop shadows, outlines, glows, or any other stylistic effects.

Trademark Notice
On first use in any document or publication, follow the brand name with the ® trademark symbol, as this is a registered trademark of Electric Capital.
Standard Credit Line

"Electric Capital and the Electric Capital logo are registered trademarks of Electric Capital Partners, LLC. Used with permission."
Press & Editorial Use
Members of the press may use approved logo assets for factual editorial coverage without prior approval, provided:
- The logo is reproduced without modification and in accordance with these guidelines.
- The usage does not imply endorsement of any product, service, or viewpoint by Electric Capital.
Attribution in Open Source & Repository Contexts
If Electric Capital's logo or visual assets are referenced, included, or distributed alongside software hosted in a public repository (e.g., GitHub, GitLab, Bitbucket), the attribution requirements of this policy apply regardless of the repository's software license. The license governing your code does not extend to our brand assets. Logo files and trademarks are not transferable under any open source license.
The following guidelines apply based on the license type associated with your repository:
Permissive Licenses (MIT, BSD, ISC)
Repositories using permissive licenses such as MIT or BSD impose minimal restrictions on software reuse, but they do not grant any rights to third-party brand assets. If you include or reference Electric Capital's logo in a project under one of these licenses:
- You must retain all copyright and trademark notices associated with the logo files without modification.
- You must not sublicense, relicense, or imply that the logo is covered under the same permissive terms as your code.
- Attribution to Electric Capital must appear in your repository's README, NOTICE, or equivalent documentation file, using the standard credit line provided in the Attribution & Credit Language section above.
Permissive Licenses with Additional Requirements (Apache 2.0)
The Apache 2.0 license requires that all copyright, trademark, and attribution notices be preserved in any distributed derivative works. If your repository uses Apache 2.0 and includes Electric Capital assets:
- Retain all trademark and attribution notices intact and unmodified.
- If your repository includes a NOTICE file, Electric Capital's attribution credit must be included within it.
- Any documentation or display generated by your software that surfaces the logo must include the standard credit line in a location where third-party notices ordinarily appear.
Copyleft Licenses (GPL v2, GPL v3, AGPL)
Copyleft licenses require that derivative works be distributed under the same license. This requirement applies to your software code — it does not, and cannot, apply to Electric Capital's logo or brand assets, which remain proprietary and are not subject to copyleft terms. If your repository uses a copyleft license:
- Electric Capital's logo must be clearly separated from the open source components of your project (e.g., stored in a clearly labeled /assets or /branding directory with its own license notice).
- Your repository's LICENSE file or README must explicitly state that Electric Capital's logo and brand assets are excluded from the repository's open source license and are used with permission under these guidelines.
- The standard credit line must appear in your README or NOTICE file.
Weak Copyleft Licenses (LGPL, MPL 2.0)
Weak copyleft licenses permit integration with proprietary software while requiring that modifications to the licensed components remain open. When using Electric Capital assets in a repository under LGPL or MPL 2.0:
- The same separation and explicit exclusion requirements described under Copyleft Licenses above apply.
- Modifications to Electric Capital's logo are not permitted under any circumstances, regardless of the terms of your repository's license.
General Requirements for All Repository Types
Regardless of license type, the following apply universally:
- Do not include logo files in your repository without explicit written permission from Electric Capital. Contact us at info@electriccapital.com to request approval before publishing.
- Do not imply endorsement. The presence of Electric Capital's logo in your repository does not constitute or imply any partnership, sponsorship, or endorsement.
- Include a clear attribution notice in your README.md or a dedicated NOTICE or THIRD_PARTY_ASSETS file using the following format:
The Electric Capital logo and brand assets are property of Electric Capital Partners, LLC and are used under permission. They are NOT covered by this repository's open source license. All rights reserved by Electric Capital Partners, LLC. See: https://www.electriccapital.com/brand-assets/
